Purpose

  • to campaign so that safe health care comes back as a top priority on the national and international agenda,
  • to promote research on reduction of risky practices in health care,
  • to remedy the lack of scientific publications on safety (or lack of safety) of health care in developing countries,
  • to put an end to the systematic use of injections (for drugs that could be taken orally) in a good number of countries,
  • to make sure that bi-lateral and international programs on HIV/AIDS, and international conferences on AIDS systematically include safe health care among the main tracks and themes,
  • to ensure that the role of public health, and notably the central role of human resources is better taken into consideration in the international programs to combat diseases,
  • to promote generics and access to treatments, in such a way as to place the right to health first,
  • to procure assistance to qualified persons and community groups working for health care safety in developing countries.
